30th October - Day Off

Day off work today, and I've taken the girls up to visit my Gran, then out for a quick lunch.

29th October - tee hee!

Had a little bit of glossing and re-touching to do in Rhian's new purple room this afternoon, ready for the carpet being fitted tomorrow.

Couldn't be bothered to change my top - so I stuck Steve's decorating t-shirt over the top of my tops!

T-shirt: (I think the logo is designed for a large-busted woman, but works equally well for a very tall man!)
Jeans: Levi, via ebay!

Rhian, forever the fashionista, suggested it would be far more stylished cinched in at the waist with a wide belt! I thought the red also gave the outfit a real "pop" of colour lol!

October 29th - Seeing Spots!

Thought I'd try something different with the belt today, inspired by other bloggers who have put belts over their cardigans.

I was pleasantly surprised by the extra shape it gave me - sometimes a cardi over the top takes away some curves.

28th October - Back in my comfort zone!

A trip to the orthodontist for the smallest this afternoon, so a quick change.

Far more comfortable in this outfit! - I will pop my cowboy boots on the bottom when it's time to go!

Vest: Tesco

28th October - So much better in my head....

In my head I looked kind of funky today - in the mirror I'm not convinced!

I got to work and un-buttoned the cardigan, which at least got the bulk of the spots out of my eye-line, but my skirt is a little large, and the blouse is a bit big too. I bought the cardi in a size 12, as the 10 was pulling on the buttons - but the 12 looks too big as well!

Oh well, it was only £5 - and I think it will make a good holiday cardi!

27th October - Pyschadelic!

No glasses this morning - they were locked in the bathroom with a very grumpy small! Both eventually emerged from the bathroom, and the small still had to go to playscheme without straightened hair! (which was the dispute which resulted in her locking herself in there in the first place!)

Rhian was my stylist this morning, I'd not even considered wearing this top - it's a little bit "bold"!

Saying that, tune in tomorrow for my latest impulse buy!

This was my impulse buy last Christmas!

Top: TK Maxx

24th October - Recruitment Open Day

Had a recruitment open day at work on Saturday, so I had to wear something smart but comfortable. This was the top I bought when I was just about at my largest, for my Grandad's funeral.

23rd October - Turquoise Jumper, Where is my mojo?

It's been a bit of an "indifferent" week as far as my clothes have gone this week - in fact it's been a bit of an indifferent week as far as my life has gone too!

I've got to work tomorrow as well, and I think that's adding to my general feeling of bleurgh! I am off on Monday instead though :-)

Jumper and Scarf: Sainsburys
Trousers: Tesco
Boots: M&S

22nd October - argyle tights. Indecisive - moi?

These are my new tights.

I wanted to wear them today, of that I was sure!

This was outfit number 1 - too big "up top" and I think the batwing cardi needs to be relegated to the charity shop.

Batwing cardi: M&S
Blouse: Sainsburys

This is my next attempt, but I wasn't happy with the way my tummy sticks out under the belt!

Belt: Tesco

And this is the safe option I finally wore to work!

Tights: M&S

21st October - Black and White and High Heeled Boots

This outfit was supposed to have a pop of purple - but as I pulled on the brand new pair of purple diamond tights I discovered they had a ladder right on the knee!

So leopard print legs it had to be!

I've had these boots a couple of years. First year I wore them constantly, last year I wore them once then they needed re-heeling. Yesterday I had them re-heeled :-)

Tank and Tights: Sainsburys
White T-shirt top: Next
Skirt: Tesco
Boots: M&S

(edited to say, I was still wearing this outfit when I picked Rhian, nearly 14, up from school. She declared that my boots were "stripper-ish" - thoughts please?!)

20th October - Variation on a Theme!

I was just going to wear this long-sleeved t-shirt today (with trousers, obviously!), but I was so cold at work yesterday that I decided I needed to wear something with it.

Red t-shirt: Dorothy Perkins
Blouse: Sainsburys
Trousers: Tesco
Shoes: New Look

Has anyone seen any black work trousers anywhere with a side fastening? Looking at this side shot the front fastening is just making my protruding tummy problem worse!

Granny Mac, or School Gate Chic?

Last winter I had my lovely red coat, which was great in the dry and cold weather, but the only coat I've got for wet or snowy days is a size 16 black anorak.

Today I was waiting for some boots to be re-heeled and was wasting some time in the clothes section of Sainsburys, and saw this reduced from £30 to £15.

What do you think? Is it a Granny Mac? or is it a good item for damp mornings and school runs?

19th October - Blue and Deep Red Flower

I'm loving the colour scheme today - I think I'm looking really "healthy"!

Sleeveless Blouse and Flower: Sainsburys
Trousers: Tesco
Jumper: M&S

(this photo is taken in natural daylight, showing the true colours)

18th October - Lazy Sunday

Nothing exciting happened yesterday - Combat first thing, then general washing and usual weekend stuff, and my Mum came over for pot-roast meatloaf (recipe under the pictures of the girls here on my other blog!) and F1 excitement late afternoon.

Jumper: Tesco
Skirt: M&S
Tights: Sainsburys

You might notice I look a bit animated. You might notice there is a baby wipe on the floor. You might also notice the lack of the customary second picture of the same outfit alongside this one.

See below!

Trying to take photos with my husband in the house is a trial!

Although he does have impecable timing lol!

17th October - Party Time!

Last night was the long awaited Wedding Party. My lovely friend from work got married in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, and last night was her "celebration" now they are back from honeymoon.

There was loads of us there from work, and we danced, and danced, and danced!

Dress and Belt: Tesco
Bracelet: Sainsburys
Watch: I picked it up at the hospice fete!
Shoes: New Look

I decided the watch looked a bit "matchy matchy", and took it off before I arrived!

17th October - Striped Jumper

I like this jumper........ on the hanger, but somehow it just doesn't look like I think it should when I put it on!

Which is a shame, because it's a lovely jumper!

Jumper: Gap
Jeans: Next
Boots: Clarks
Bizarre face: model's own lol!

16th October - Red dress, black cardi

I ran out of time this morning before I'd really had a chance to think about what I was going to wear.

I love that a dress is so easy - just pop it on and go!

15th October - Not feeling the love for this!

I've just realised I got the date wrong yesterday! sorry!

I don't like this outfit!

There's something not right with it - or there's a lot not right with it!

The skirt is too big for me, and shapeless.

The tank is just a bit.... boring!

Skirt: Tesco

15th October - Polka Dots and Flowers!

Thought I'd give the turquoise flower another outing today, but teaming it up with some polka dots!

I was already on my way to work when I suddenly thought I could have worn the turquoise tights too - but given the mostly adverse reaction here last time I wore them (4 "bad", 2 "good") I think I need to ease back into them!!

Flower: Sainsburys
Cardi: Next
Dress: Tesco
Belt and Shoes: Dorothy Perkins

Tuesday, 13 October 2009

I've changed the wording on the "bad" choice on the quick reactions at the bottom of each post, to encourage some constructive feedback, rather than a simple "bad" vote - I really don't mind a "bad" vote, but some feedback about what I could do differently would really help.

Anyway, it has re-set all the "bad" votes back to zero! Please feel free to go back and re-vote if you were a "bad" voter :-) but please consider leaving me some feedback! Mainly so I don't make the same mistakes again!

Thank you!

And no photo today, both girls are home from school poorly, so I'm skulking about in an uninspired jumper and jeans outfit, and I've not yet done my hair!

12th October - Turquoise and Purple Flower

No photos from the weekend, as I spent most of it wearing my decorating clothes!

Inspired by Shoegalfi, today I wore the purple flower with a new turquoise jumper!

Blouse, Jumper and Flower: Sainsburys
Trousers: Tesco
Shoes: New look

Now then, opinion seems to be divided about the turquoise tights/turquoise flower outfit from last week, with lots of "bad" votes. Can someone leave me a comment about why it's bad please - I'm not sure whether it's the tights, the flower or what that makes it a disaster (or whether it's just the fact that I'm all crunched up in the photo!).

9th October - Chilly School Run

I've been chilly all day, so I wrapped up warm for the school run!

Pashmina: festival place
Body Warmer: Trespass
Blouse: Tesco
Skirt: M&S
Tights: can't remember
Boots: Clarks

9th October - Tame!

After yesterday's way-out wackiness I thought I'd be a bit more main-stream today!

Tank and Flower: Sainsburys
