28th May - Working From Home

Today I had to collect Steve from the hospital and stay with him, so I decided to work from home.

This outfit is just so comfy!

How to dress my shape.....

Imogen at Inside Out Style, a fantastic Australian image consultant, has put together a series of articles on how to dress various body shapes.

Today was the turn of the "I" shape - which is me! (Imogen very kindly popped over to my blog many months ago and "diagnosed" me!) :-)

All the other body shapes are explained at here - which one are you?

27th May - back to black!

A tad uninspired today - S is in back to hospital today to have his gallbladder removed, and I just didn't have the energy to think of an inspired outfit this morning!

26th May - New Dress

This is the dress you got a preview of back in January! Today was it's first proper wear, and S quizzed me as to how long I'd had it! Thankfully I could show him that post to prove that it had been hanging in my wardrobe since January!

I got lots of compliments about it at work today, with one lady convinced it was silk (I showed her the label to prove it was polyester!) Despite it being polyester it wasn't at all "sweaty", and I felt really cool, comfortable and chic in it all day :-)

Dress: South (
Belt and Shoes: Dorothy Perkins

Total Cost: £50 (those shoes were £30 - expensive for me, but soooo worth it! Even 16 months on, with all the wear they have had, the leather still looks like they're new!)

25th May - In the Pink!

Hey look at me - no, yes people, that's right, your eyes are not deceiving you, today I am wearing no black!

I am wearing lots of pink, and flowers, and feeling very girlie!

The bangle was on my desk when I got to work - a gift from a colleague who was having a clear out and left me a pile of bangles, knowing my penchant for accessorising! It is quite red, but other colleagues suggested it toned, so on it went! (but boy did it clonk about on the desk!)

T-shirt: Dorothy Perkins
Skirt: Sainsburys
Shoes: Tesco

Total cost - £22 (what do you think - do you want me to put the cost? I only know the cost for this outfit as I've bought it all in the past few weeks!)

24th May - After Work - Sundress and Lolly!

Spotted this little sundress on Saturday while shopping for BBQ supplies, and it just jumped into my basket (it had to go back and be swapped because it was actually a 12 on an 8 hanger, and was a little large!). The flip flops performed the same basket jumping trick! (actually, as did the blouse from earlier today too!)

I'm feeling for Kira today, who is on her school residential for the year, and is spending all day trekking around Guildford, then camping overnight before more activities tomorrow.

Making the most of the sunshine though, as it's going to be back to 16 by Wednesday!

24th May - Campaigning

We had a fantastically hot weekend in the UK, and it continued today, with temperatures hitting 28 (which is pretty hot for us!)

I got home from work, and S asked if I'd got enough votes today, intimating that I'd been on the campaign trail! If I were I would be campaigning for the right to wear a flower without having the mickey taken!

21st May - After Work, and a new challenge?

There must be something about the sunshine and warm weather that has brought on an attack of the spangly sandals, as Shoegal has hers on today too!

Not quite sure why the middle photo looks like I've got a glowing tummy button!

The latest blogger challenge I'm contemplating is Sally from Already Pretty's "Summer Blackout" where basically, between 7th and 14th June you don't wear anything (gasp!) black - you can wear a pattern with black in it, but black must not be the background colour.

Do you think I can do it?!

21st May - Boring Outfit, but here's my cat!

I'm struggling with outfits this week, and here's my problem...

I'm part of the way through treating my legs with Boots Smooth Skin permanant (allegedly!) hair removal system (more on that in my next review) and you cannot use it for 30 days after sun exposure or use of self tanning creams. My legs, I feel, are too white to expose the poor people involved in my life to (particularly work - home people, my friends, can just put up with them!), and as we head near to the end of May I don't really feel I can wear my normal thick tights, without looking like a wally - particularly as the temperature was in the mid 20's today!

So I've worn trousers to work all week.

There were lots of summer outfits in the office today though, and lots of legs as white, if not whiter, than mine, so I think I may just have to grin and bear it, and bring out my legs!

The other option I was wondering about was wearing ankle length leggings, for example under my spotty dress, with flats - but I'm not sure about office suitability? (it's pretty casual - what I was wearing today is pretty much the office uniform - a lot of my outfits are pretty "out there" compared to my colleagues!)

And here is Dot - can you see how she got her name?!

She is almost 8 years old, and is probably the most shouty cat I have ever met - she yells and yells and yells until you do whatever it is she wants (usually a stroke!).

Maybe one day I'll be able to coax Elvis, our fat, gorgeous but elusive white and tabby cat into a picture - but don't hold your breath!

Not much to say about today!

Tomorrow is S's big Four Oh! birthday, but unfortunately we've had to suspend all the celebrations we had planned for this weekend, but plans are afoot to reschedule for when he's feeling better!

19th May - Green and Black

Sadly not "Green and Blacks" chocolate, just a somewhat uninspired outfit!

No photos from yesterday, as it was bit hectic and I forgot to take pictures, but I am delighted that S is finally home :-) He needs to go back for another night later next week to have his gallbladder removed, and until then he's on a fat free diet, but after he recovers from his op he should be symptom free! yay!

17th May - pink and turquoise, with pink shoes!

A rather strange face I'm pulling today - hopefully you'll be too distracted by the pink shoes to notice! (had I not drawn your attention to it, doh!)

I bought these on whim the other day from Tesco - they were reduced (I am a sucker for a bargain!) and were only £5. So (blush) I have bought 3 pairs of new shoes in the past 2 weeks, whoops, but have managed to spend less than £20 on 3 pairs of shoes! Not bad eh?!

15th May - Hospital Visiting

The last couple of days have been a bit topsy turvey, to say the very least - but we have now resigned ourselves to the fact that Steve is in hospital for the time being, so we will settle into a pattern of visiting him daily.

This is the first time I have worn pumps (newly black!) with leggings for many, many years! The weather is promised to warm up slightly, so I thought I'd risk the bare feet, rather than shoving boots on as I normally would!

13th May

13th May - and it's not even Friday 13th!

No photo today because I was otherwise occupied this morning (getting my dear husband admitted to hospital with pancreatitis caused by his gallstones).

Now he's in safe hands I'm trying to get over getting up at 4 this morning by surfing the good old net, and notice that there's a new wardrobe challenge! Once Steve is on the mend I will have to give that some serious thought!

12th May - Navy, Grey and Red

I had a sudden flash of inspiration that I could wear my navy jumper with my grey trousers! Initially I had a red t-shirt under the jumper, but it looked a little bit "matchy-matchy" for my liking, so I substituted it for the white one, and popped on a couple of red bangles and red lipstick!

11th May - Purple Tuesday

Hmmm. I don't like what this outfit does to my shape - I feel it makes me look somewhat top heavy and chunky, particularly in the side view.

Oh well, it fitted the theme!

Would any other bloggers care to join me on a theme day? We pick a colour and all wear it and blog about it?

8th May - A Visit to my Granny!

Today me and the girls were visiting my wonderful Granny Mick, who is sadly not as with it as she once was.

This beautiful Rennie Mackintosh necklet used to belong to her before she passed it down to my Mum, who very kindly passed it straight to me as she wasn't likely to ever wear it. I'm not sure of the full history of it - it's no antique, but I believe my Gran's second husband Bill gave it to her (they married when she was 81 and he was 85, and they had 5 very happy years together, until Bill died just over 10 years ago). I thought I wear it today so she could tell me a bit about it, but unfortunately she didn't even recognise it as being hers today. I will try and ask her about it again next time I see her, as she has days when she remembers more than others, or I will ask my Mum, who probably knows about it anyway!

7th May - Theme Day - Black and White

Quite often we joke about in our office about the "memo" sent out about what colour to wear, as often we find ourselves wearing similar outfits! After a discussion yesterday because seeminly everyone else in the office was wearing blue, we decided to declare today "Black and White Friday" and we would all wear black and white! It worked really well, although I nearly had to sit on my hands to not add my red belt, or my red flower broach to this outfit! It did wear the brightest red lipstick though! (although it doesn't show up well in the photos, it was red red)

We had such good fun (saddos that we are!), that we have declared next Tuesday "Purple Tuesday", I bet I'll forget!

6th May - Red and Black

No, no, and once more, for the record, I am not wearing red to show any kind of political allegiance!

Quite obviously I am wearing red because I bought new red shoes only yesterday, and I fashioned an outfit around them!
