Carried on my personal challenge today - can you tell what I'm up to yet?!

I still love this dress!

New little cardi today, as the old short sleeved black cardi I've been wearing is a size 16, and was somewhat large! I saw this one in Matalan at the weekend for £6 and decided to treat myself to one that fitted! It does have puff sleeves though, which I'm not entirely sure are the best thing for my already slightly broad shoulders - but today I figured the boldness of the frock would detract any eyes from the wide-ness of my shoulders!

28th June - Green and Pink?!!

I've got a comparison shot for you - Can you see what I've done?

(apart from different t-shirt and shoes!)

I've had my Mum cut 10 centimetres of the bottom of my skirt! (not actually turn it into cullottes, like it looks in the picture!)

I wanted to do something other than the pink t-shirt today - mainly becuase it's 28 degrees here today, and the pink t-shirt has almost elbow length sleeves (gah, not a sleeve length I would choose!), so I decided to try and pick out some of the green in the skirt. None of the greens in the skirt would suit me (trust me on this one!), so I went with a green that does, in the hope that it would work - and to at least match in my shoes in case it didn't!

Can you see how floaty and girly I was feeling this morning!

25th June - Dress and Leggings

Today was our dress down day, but I also had a big meeting I was due to attend at lunchtime, which I couldn't go completely casual to, so I decided to stick my leggings on under my dress to "casual-up" the outfit, but in such a way that one I'd sat down at the table nobody would notice!

As it was, the meeting was cancelled!

I thought I'd try a different pose today - I think I look like a barbie style doll who's arms have been twisted round the wrong way! Ooops!

24th June - Failed

Friends, I'm sorry! I tried, I really did.

I tucked, I took my photos, I picked up my handbag, I drove to work, I got out of the car in the car park, and I untucked.

I just couldn't do it!

I think this is the wrong top to tuck - it's tie at the back means I've got a wodge of material that doesn't tuck well.

Maybe I'll try again another day, maybe.....

I wasn't happy with today's outfit really - it was pulled together as I was giving blood this afternoon, but I failed at that too, and was turned away as my iron was too low again.

Sigh.

tomorrow I will try not to be such a failure.

23rd June - Black Linen, White Cotton, and Petunias!

A rather dull outfit today as I was an Assessor on an assessment centre, and I wasn't sure whether it would be air conditioned or not! To detract from the dull outfit, I have included a gratuitous shot of my pots, preparing for "a riot of summer colour" - unless I manage to kill them all off as normal!

21st June - playing with proportions

After Sheila's advice last week, I tried turning up the bottom of my t-shirt today to make it a bit shorter.

Apart from not being particularly happy about the bulk it added around my tummy, I quite liked the length! What do you think?

18th June - Footless Tights for Work

Well, today I finally plucked up the courage and stuck a pair of footless tights on, and wore them (gasp!) to work!

Please remember that my colleagues tend to wear a standard "uniform" of black trousers, comfy shoes and v-neck jumpers - I am pretty much "out there" as far as work-wear goes in my office!

I tried on a couple of skinny belts (a pink one, and the yellow one from yesterday) before settling on the wide black one - the additional colour just added too many dimensions - I think this dress is crazy enough on the eyes without adding more than one extra colour!

17th June - You Speak, I Listen!

Yesterday I got a number of comments on my post.

CarolAnn respectfully asked me "is your back okay? Is there something physical that prevents you from standing up straight?" - Nope CarolAnn, nothing wrong with my back, just slouchy. Today I have made a proper effort to stand up straight - and I feel a bit self-conscious!

Sheila made some very valid and valuable comments, as always - I need to look out some shorter length t-shirts! (sorry, I'm just not ready to tuck!)

Alecia suggested adding a "punch of yellow, for a change". Yellow is not a colour I ever wear. I would not look good in yellow, so initally I decided to disregard this comment. This morning I had this outfit on with a bright pink skinny belt, and Kira, my adorable (ahem!) 10 year old said "I've got a belt just like that, but yellow, it came with my jeans - but it's too big for me" - well, the seed was sown. She brought it down for me, and there you go - I'm wearing yellow! Thank you Alecia!

And Nerines suggested I was brave, looked lovely, and her mother would be so proud of her if she dressed more like me. Erm, thank you, I think ;-)

And finally, while I'm doing "shout-outs", today's outfit was very much inspired by Style Underdog, and her "too sexy skirt" :-)

A slightly random shot with the foot up today. In case you were thinking I'm being more bonkers than normal, there is a reason! My new lipstick (did you notice the difference? no, well, good - I've been searching to find an exact replica of my current shade, and yesterday did just that in Marks and Spencers!) is called "Flamingo" - so I'm posing like a flamingo! (kinda!)

This skirt actually fits me better than my last "tucked/untucked" example!

I took the white vest off after taking the photo, as I just felt too bulky, and my midriff smoothed out significantly!

15th June - Introducing My "Sheila" Shoes!

It was a bit windy outside this morning - can you tell!

I picked up these shoes in Tesco last week - I only went in for Pizza! Whoops! But, in my defence, they were £18 reduced to £10 - and they are very comfy.

I'm calling them my "Sheila" Shoes, as they struck me as something as lovely Sheila might well wear!

I have had lots of comments about them at work today - somebody commented that I looked very lovely, but ready to go to a party - I simply said that it was always best to be prepared :-)
