28th January - Frocking Friday Week 4, and an update from the week!

Frocking ladies, the things I do for you! Today was dress-down day at work, and I wanted to debut my skinny combats, so, especially for you, I popped on my one and only dress which didn't make a Dressember appearance!

The colour doesn't show particularly well in the photos, but it's a lovely "cadbury" purple - and it's silk.

While I had it on I was contemplating it's abilities to be my big four-oh! birthday party dress in March - and I'm planning on a lot of dancing - so I put it through it's paces!

I'll keep looking for another dress - but knowing that this is here as a back-up will take the pressure off somewhat!

Dress: TKMaxx

Last Saturday was the first 40th birthday party of the year - I wore my favourite top with the real metal halterneck bit, and I got lots of compliments :D

Top: TKMaxx
Blazer: Zara
Jeans: Next
Boots: Office (via ebay)

Monday saw complete re-styles for both girls at the hairdresses - very brave on both their parts, and I gave them a lecture before they went that any wailing would not be accepted, as, quite frankly, there would be nothing we could do about it after the event, and wailing wouldn't make it grow back any faster, so was therefore a waste of time. Thankfully both girls are over the moon with their new looks :D

and finally, a photo of Elvis, just because he looked huge (and a little uncomfortable - but he was quite happy like that for the brief trip he had out to the kitchen for the day!)

21st January - Frocking Friday Week 3

I've worn a dress for 4 out of 5 days this work week - making Frocking Friday a norm rather than an unusual event!

A re-wear of one of the most popular dresses from Dressember today.

Belt and Top: Dorothy Perkins

14th January - Rhod Gilbert

Yes, I know it was just yesterday I told you I was having a blog-cation! But I just wanted to share these trousers with you!

I saw the fantastic Style Underdog wearing a pair of skinny combats a while ago, and thought...... Hmmm, I like those. I happened to see a pair in Sainsburys about 3 months ago - but they never had my size, although I looked every time I went food shopping!

I just happened to be in Sainsbury's, browsing their sale rail the other evening, and there they were, sitting there in a 10 long, with my name on them! They were coming home with me, it was written in the stars!

So in my mind, I am most definitely channeling Style Underdog, in reality......? Hmmm, well I'm not she has ever managed to simultaneously chop the top of her head and her foot off in the same photo (no, it's not dodgy cropping!).

But we were off to see the hilarious Rhod Gilbert - and he was hilarious - my cheeks were aching after so much laughter - highly recommend it if he's ever in your area.

Oh, and it was only as we were leaving the house (late) that S and I noticed that we were wearing matching khaki combat trousers! (although mine were alot more slim fitting than is lol!)

14th January - Frocking Friday Week 2

Last week on Frocking Friday the ever-glamourous, always humourous, beautiful Amber posted her Frocking Friday pictures. She was posing on a wall, with a beach in the background.

Today I decided to shake things up a bit, and decided I too should pose on a wall. Sadly I was somewhat limited to venue of said wall, as well as time, so was in my rather untidy garden, in the grey gloom of early morning, with my decrepid garage in the background (and a random beach bucket - don't ask, I just don't know!), with a 10 year old photographer. There's no wonder I don't look as glamorous as Amber (well, that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!)

Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Blouse and Cardi: Next
Belt: www.brilliantbelts.co.uk
Shoes: Clarks

And Amber didn't share any outtakes - but I'm sure she had some similar experiences!

It's a bit wobbly on my wall!

And I'm assuming Amber's trusty photographer is slightly taller than mine, which is why she has no lovely "up the skirt" shots!

While I'm here I'd like to apologise for the lack of posts. To be frank, after manically blogging Dressember I'm feeling a little "blogged out", so I'm going to take a little "blog-cation", and for a little while just blog on Frocking Friday's and any other day when I'm wearing anything I feel is particularly blog worthy.

Behave yourselves while I'm gone - I will be back! (mwah)

7th January - The Inaugral Frocking Friday

And here we are - Friday - and for 2011 that will mean a dress! Frocking Friday starts today! Click the link to pop over to the facebook page and see what everyone else is wearing!

I didn't take a picture of the back last time I wore this, and I think it's quite interesting!

6th January - Another Dress!

I started working my extra hours this week - I've gone from 4 hours a day, to 6 - after 10 years of only doing 4 it's a bit of a shock to the system! As you can see from the rather weary me!

I completely forgot to take a photo on Tuesday, but I was wearing my Dotty P's pin stripe dress with the purple cardi and belt, and black tights, with brogues. Wednesday I had the day off with Kira and went sales shopping - and came away with nothing! I was wearing a particularly uninspired jeans/t-shirt combo, which was absolutely not blog-worthy!

So here I am, shattered on Thursday!

2nd January - I couldn't do it!

I couldn't wear my jeans for a second day on the trot, I was missing my dresses!

Another link

Sorry, I'm not getting a chance to blog so far this week - I've started working my extra hours which means I don't have any time at home without the girls, and so far this week they've needed all my attention!

I have some photos to share, and am hoping to catch up tomorrow evening!

In the meantime, the wonderful Imogen at Inside Out Style has some fantastically easy New Years Image Resolutions.

Don't forget it's the inaugral Frock Friday tomorrow - it's a far less daunting challenge than Dressember - so why not join in when you can :D

And finally, don't forget to vote for your favourite dress of mine from Week 4 - it's pretty much a one-horse race at the moment!

Hopefully pop back tomorrow with a couple of catch up posts from this week, and I vow to try and be a better blogger next week!

Dressember Wrap Up

I was going to type up a missive about my Dressember experience, and my now absolute love of dresses (oh yes, 4 days into the New Year and I've already worn 2 dresses, and I can't see myself moving back to jeans/jumper anytime particularly soon - certainly not while it's still cold enough for woolly tights!), but I've just flicked through to Google Reader, and the wonderfully funny, incredibly stylish Amber has just posted a wrap up which says everything I was going to say, but so much more eloquently that I could have managed :-)

(I shall console myself with the fact that she is properly trained to write such stuff, and does it for a living!)

So pop on over to Forever Amber, and read what Amber wrote when she read my mind! Also have a rummage around the archives while you're there - my particular favourites are the odd boot shopping experience and the Florida holiday photos posts!

(I forgot to take my photo today, can you tell!)

January 1 - Jeans are overrated!

How sad am I that Dressember is over! We stayed overnight at the party, and I took my jeans with me to wear this morning - and really, I'm missing my dresses already!

There is a new facebook group for Frock Friday so why not pop over and join us - it's less daunting than a whole month :D

I am liking the fact that my Bum is back (even if it is a boy's bum) - it's hard to show off buns of steel (ahem, lol!) in a frock!

Tank: Sainsburys
Boots: Office (via ebay) (are you bored of them yet!)

Dressember Week 4 - Roundup!

And what a mega-roundup it is! It seemed daft doing just week 4 and leaving 3 days to cover seperately, so I've just lumped them all in together!

So here we have it, the final stretch of Dressember 2010, summed up in 1 post, and, as has become tradition over the past 3 weeks, it's time to vote for your favourite!

I'll leave it a week, then there will a grand finale, when you will get to pick a "favourite of the favourites"!!!

How exciting :-$ (please do try and contain your excitement!)

Dressember Day 31 - Share the Party Wear!

So we saw Dressember out and the New Year in at a friend's house party - and spent a good deal of time playing on his Kinect - what an ace bit of tech that is!

A repeat of the dress from Day 4, which is supremely comfortable!

Happy New Year everyone!
