24th June - Inspired By Melody, Part 2

Earlier in the year my online friend Melody bought herself a stripey dress and wanted ideas how to style it. I coveted that stripey dress, but couldn't justify the £45 price tag in Wallis.

How happy was I to see this version in the Tesco sale for £8? Very!

Frocking Friday - new dress!

I finally frocked on a Friday!

Even though it was dress-down day, I couldn't wait to wear my new-to-me-via-ebay Monsoon dress - which while it wasn't BNWT, I can't see that it's ever been worn :D (and it was a bargain!)

It's a lovely thick jersey, with two satin ribbon belts - the raspberry one pictured, or a plain black one.

22nd June - Inspired by Melody

An online friend of mine, Melody, decided to try the longer short look earlier in the year, and a couple of days later I saw these in Tesco, and for just £6 I figured that they were worth a punt.

I've tried them on several times, but never actually worn them out - mainly because they are just too big for me on the hips. Today I tried them with the longer top, which disguised the excess material on the hips, and Kira admired them (which is saying something - she's usually very sniffy about my outfits, especially if they're anything she would consider out-of-the-ordinary!), so out of the house they went!

Top: Sainsburys (sorry Sheila, it's a Cheater!)
Shorts: Tesco
Shoes: New Look (gifted)

21st June - A Dress!

What I did at Half Term

We camped, it was wet, it was windy, it was cold. Then the sun shone for 1 day, so we body boarded. I am a surfer chick (in my head, at the very least!) and, most importantly, I had the best time :D

Wetsuit: Woolacombe surf hire
Board: Models Own!

13th June - print dress

Went into the garden today to take my shots, just to make the most of the weather! It has been so cold and wet here recently - those of you who watch F1 can imagine what I say when I say the weather here yesterday was much the same as it was in Montreal! Wet, very wet, and cold :-(

I standing very proudly next to my white carnation - he was bought a couple of years ago as a tiny little thing, I then ignored him all winter, and his 5 other bedding plant tray companions all passed away during the long cold winter. He was obviously a hardy little soul, as he survived another long cold winter last year, and this year has blossomed into this beauty!

Also on show is the beautiful swarovski crystal my hubby bought me back from his week away - see how it turns into a disco ball in the sunshine :-)

10th June - last day of the the black out

Last day of my self-imposed summer black out!

It was supposed to be frocking friday, but I didn't really have a work suitable dress that isn't black! (lovely denim has got a bit tight, I'm working on that!)

8th June - continuing the "Black Out"

Slightly tenuous today, but the background of the skirt is grey, not black, honest!

I've only worn the skirt with black in the past, but decided to try it with a completely different colour today, and decided to go for green!

I absolutely chucked it down with rain on my home today, and my feet and skirt got very very wet! At least barefeet dry quickly, when compared with feet in tights.

Skirt: Ebay
Shoes: New Look (gifted ages ago by Kate previously of schoolgatechic, and now blogging at spiragirl)

While I'm giving blog shout-outs, I'm delighted to see styleunderdog back in the blog saddle after a break.

And Sheila, of course, still rocking her thing.

7th June - Purple and Turquoise

I have stumbled into Summer Black Out! After yesterdays outfit I decided to challenge myself to see if I could maintain the "no black" all week!

I got lots of compliments on the colour combo today, and I was pleased with it. Can you tell I based the entire outfit around my newly-acquired-off-ebay shoes? lol

6th June - Blue and Green should never been seen?

It's been a while.....

I'm struggling a bit with my reason for blogging right now - plus I seem to be a bit short of time working the extra hours at work.

I don't want to stop blogging altogether, and I'm hatching a plan for an alternative, but for the meantime I'm going to have another bash at daily blogging here - if there's anyone still reading!

Well anyway, here's today's outfit! Look! No black - that's right - no black!!! Amazing!
